Standard DECLINE REASONS Explained

We have revised the look and content of the reasons you see when images submitted to Bigstock are Declined.
We hope these explanations will clarify our decision, help you create better content, and improve your workflow.

Camera Technique
ARTIFACT PROBLEMS: Over-sharpening /Noise / Overuse of Noise Reduction in image when viewed at 100%. Common causes include shooting in low light, using a high ISO, and/or poor post-processing techniques. * There is a loss of quality or clarity in the image when viewed at 100% of the file size.
FOCUS ISSUE: Image is not in focus when viewed at 100% or the focus is not on the main subject. * The main subject of image is out of focus or the focus is poorly placed.
CHROMATIC ABERRATION: Chromatic Aberration or Colored Fringing in image when viewed at 100%. * Fringing can be seen when viewed at 100%, usually on trees, sides of buildings, or outlining an object.
EXPOSURE ISSUE: Image is not properly exposed. Issue includes one or more of the following: blown out highlights, overall lighting is too dark, or incorrect white balance settings. * There is an issue with the exposure of the image that detracts from the quality and/or marketability of the image.
HARSH SHADOWS: Improper use of on-camera/direct flash, poor or uneven lighting. * There is an issue with the exposure of the image that detracts from the quality and/or marketability of the image.
POOR COMPOSITION: Limited commercial value due to excessive cropping, tilted horizon, and/or composition of main subject matter. * This could include that the photo was taken too close or too far away from the subject or that the camera was not held level to the horizon.
PRODUCTION/STYLING ISSUE: Dirty production set-background, floor, or tables, or sensor dust, spots, or scratches from camera equipment.  Poor styling could include hair/clothing/makeup/props. * There is an issue with either the camera equipment or the set/props used in the image.

Poor Post Processing/Uploading
POOR POST PROCESSING: Quality issues from techniques done in post-production could include: poor isolation, obvious cloning/blurring, uneven or poor separation of background. * There is a loss of quality or clarity in the image when viewed at 100% of the file size.
UPLOAD OR PROCESSING ERROR: An error occurred with this file. Please re-upload the original file and submit again. * This Decline reason is used when there is an issue with the original file-a new file will need to be submitted for review.
DUPLICATE FILE (JPG+EPS): Please do not submit an additional JPG version of your vector file. Our system will automatically create additional JPG files in multiple sizes from the original EPS. *Please do not submit an additional JPG version of your vector file.
SIMILAR/DUPLICATE IMAGE: Too similar to other images in this batch or in your portfolio. In future submissions, select only a few of the very best images of this subject to be reviewed. *The image was previously approved or there is not enough variation of the same subject.
